I was going to post a wonderful new recipe today, but my head is about to explode so I will wait for another day.

Hope each of you have had a good start to your week. I am posting "Mr. Teacher's" wing recipe so that you can plan ahead to this Sunday's great Super Bowl game.
I have listed the items I will be having at our house. All of these are under the "Cooking Made Easy" tab.

Black Bean & Corn Salsa
Jalapeno Ranch Dip
Wings
Sausage Wraps

And of course I am allowing my guest to bring some great food as well!

More later this week! (after the head explodes, I might even post photos)

"Can We Talk"

I know that it is not Friday, but Saturday is a good day too! Well I promised you yesterday I would talk about a new blog! It is wonderful, creative and I just know y'all are going to love it.

It is called "Dixie Lust", what a great name for a blog. And guess what else she is a southern girl, I told you I thought I had found a long lost relative. Only thing is she is a little younger than I am. OK a lot younger than I am. I have to tell you a little secret, I wish she lived here. I just know "Mr Teacher" would love her
(yes I am still on matchmaker restrictions).

Anyway check out her blog "Dixie Lust", she loves to give away stuff as well. And it is almost Mardi Gras season. You know us southern girls, we love life, love fine things and especially LOVE the people we call family.

Y'all be sure and check out this blog TODAY.
Thanks so much for a letting me share your blog, Miss Dixie Lust.

"Can We Talk"

I can not believe it is already Wednesday!

I have not been excessively busy but for some reason time is running right past me at the speed of sound. We are expecting more cold weather later this week. For those of you who know me best you know that I do not enjoy winter very much.
These smart aleck guys I live with love to keep reminding me that it is still
January and therefore must still be WINTER.

I hate it when my man sasses me!

I have discovered a new favorite blog! I am going to tease you until Friday, but you will be excited because I think I have finally found a long lost younger counterpart of myself. Who would have known that she was out there. I am having a little girl crush myself. Can't wait to share this new yummy blog!

Also, I tried a new apple tart recipe this past weekend and it passed the guy test. Can't wait to share it with you. Email me if you need some great Super Bowl recipes.

Smooches!

Oh one more thing, I did get 1 response about a give a way and Holley thinks she should have an advantage since she is the only one that responded. I will have to give this some thought! UM!

"Can We Talk"

Just wanted each of you to know that I haven't forgotten about the new recipe that I am going to post. It will be up tomorrow.

Next week feels like a giveaway week. What do y'all think? Let me know, if I don't hear from you I will guess that you don't want something free.

Still receiving comments about my new "Bowl" game title.
Primarily from the men folk.

I do have something funny to share with you guys. When I was in India one of my friends from Ohio kept trying to aggravate me so I would drop my r's. He thought it was soooooo funny, I alas did not. Anyway yesterday he is sitting in my office and I am typing away and start laughing. He of course asked me what was so funny. I proceeded to show him what I had typed. Foevah, how is that for dropping r's. I even type in southern, oh well love what I am.

Great Thursday to ya!

Can We Talk

Well we are transitioning from the Cowboys to the Saints in our quest for football glory. Being a Louisiana girl I do not have a problem with this!

So now we continue on with our Sunday afternoons of the "Man fest". Being the minority gender is this household, what is a girl to do. I will of course be out shopping for a Saints jersey tomorrow. LOL

I wanted to thank all of you for your wonderful emails on my suggestion for the "Playtex" Under Wire Bowl. I will of course be posting a list of my guest commentators, I have had many wonderful women volunteers. This could change the whole dynamic of football as we know it. And how fun will those locker room interviews be! Hey, you know what I am saying.

Have a new chicken cheese ball to share with y'all this week. You are going to love it!

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY!

Great Football Food

With the playoffs and the Super Bowl just around the corner I wanted to post some reminder recipes. I had several of you make these dips during the holidays and the wonderful emails were greatly appreciated.

These continue to be fan favorites, they are quick and easy and very yummy. Make them ahead on Saturday and have them ready for Sunday's Cowboy game that starts at noon. No need to have lunch just some great snacks. (WHO I AM KIDDING) I will still have to have the lunch!

Hope each of you are having a great week!

"Tips"

I know many of you watch TV in the mornings as you are getting ready for work. On Wednesday morning of last week NBC's Today show had the "Coupon Mom". She was given a shopping list and had her coupons and was to go through a local store and see how much she could save. Well her total bill was $.25. Yes I said 25 cents.

This is fantastic, super, great! If you are living in NYC where apparently her grocery store doubles everything up to $1.00. Ladies, this is not living in reality, first it is not a fair display of the average American household.

As I have shared before I feel the same way about the Grocery Game, yes it is a help and yes use it to help you get started. Once you have used it for a while then try it on your own. Why? Well if you do it yourself YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY A FEE TO YOU. This saves you money. And back to the Today show segment, you have to use what you have in your area. We get triple coupons up to 39 cents and double up to 50 cents. That is what we have to work with. That is why I am always telling you to use your manufacturers coupons with your grocery store coupons to save more money.

OK, I feel a little better getting that off my chest. I just do not want each of you to be discouraged by the "Coupon Mom's" wonderful shopping trip. We do not live in her area, we live here. You can only do what you do in your area.

Now on to something important. My sweet friend Stephanie "Couponing A Mom's Sport" will be teaching a couponing class through Plano's Parks and Rec program. If you live in this area, please check this out. I think it is coming up in March but will keep you posted.

JUST REMEMBER EVERY PENNY YOU SAVE IS A PENNY YOU DID NOT ALREADY HAVE! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Can We Talk

Greetings All!

I think that regular College Football is over and alas my household will settle down. I am of course an avid football fan and enjoy sitting there yelling at the TV like the rest of America but come on. Have ya seen some of the names of these Bowl games. Before you know it there is going to be the Playtex Under wire Bowl with play by play by an all women cast. We could do it, I would enjoy interviewing some of those tight ends!
Now that was funny, you know it was.

If it is not football I am being surrounded by this new game Borderlands. Do men really ever out grow games. I think not, "City Slicker" is squeezing it in at lunchtime. Right after dinner he and "Mr Teacher" are in a battle for the next latest, greatest weapon.

What about hgtv, I want my time. My peeps need new tablescapes, there are new meals to plan. I need to plan some new recipes, I need to be inspired! The reply is well there is TV upstairs. What is that all about I want to see my shows in HD, lcd, 1080 dpi, 60,000 contrast. What gives, I can just see that new potato dish Paula Deen is cooking up in hi def. Butter at it's finest!

Maybe the new will wear off soon. ONE CAN HOPE!

Cooking Made Easy

Hello! Hello! Is this thing on? Is there anyone out there besides me. Just checking, not always sure anyone comes on here but me.

Well as promised here is a new "Old" recipe. Sometimes we are too busy trying out new recipes and we forget the classics.

Today I am posting one of my family favorites "Classic Dump Cake"! So easy, you do not have to have any cooking skills to make this. It is kid friendly, let them make it.

Not only another yummy but a recipe that allows you to keep the supplies on hand and have something great in about 45 minutes.

Hope you enjoy! I will have a guest contributor this week, STAY TUNED!
